Head Start/Early Head Start Director

The Head Start/Early Head Start Director provides leadership to the HS/EHS Division. This position is responsible for managing the operation of HS/EHS programs including programmatic, personnel, facilities and budgetary matters. The HS/EHS Director reports HS/EHS information to the HS Policy Council and ensures the approval from the Council in accordance with federal guidelines and Program Performance Standards. The HS/EHS Director is a member of PCA’s Senior Management Team, and is directly supervised by the President/CEO. This position is a mandated reporter for child abuse and neglect.   

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Minimum 5 yrs. supervisor experience.
  • Minimum 5 yrs. Head Start program management exp. at the Director Level.  
  • Minimum 2 yrs. working with diverse populations.
  • Experience with Community Action Agency’s (preferred). Experience with federal monitor review process is essential.
  • Must be an experienced administrator with proven leadership qualities able to relate well to and coordinate with the staff and people being served.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to create a team environment and be a team player.
  • Must demonstrate skills and commitment to anti-bias and culturally relevant best practices.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • A physical, TB screening, criminal record check and DSS request for Search of Central Registry are required.  American Red Cross certification in First Aid and CPR are requirements of the position and will be provided to employee during probationary period as required to keep certification current.

Family Advocate (CSBG Gwinnet Office)

This position focuses on the implementation of comprehensive and limited case management principals, functions, and methods that place emphasis on family development of self-sufficiency. The Family Advocate is responsible for the daily planning, organizing, implementation and tracking of self-sufficiency plans/goals for individuals and families who participate in the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Program. The position requires strong skills in the areas of collaboration, coordination of activities and organization.

 

  • Associate Degree required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 yrs. exp. in related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse cliental.
  • Knowledge of Gwinnett County’s public and private social service networks.

Head Start Center Manager & Early Head Start Center Manager

 

The Center Manager is responsible for daily management of the HS/EHS center. This position is held accountable for the safety and well-being of the children at the HS/EHS center.  The Center Manager must understand and be able to implement the HS/EHS Performance Standards and other regulations that impact the daily operation of the HS/EHS program. The Center Manager must provide leadership for the center and work effectively with Head Start/EHS Staff, young children, parents and volunteers. This position is a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect.  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Studies, Educational Leadership, Human Services or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 yrs. working with young children.
  • Minimum 2 yrs. management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Applications (i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a team environment.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain First Aid, CPR and Fire Safety certification.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain an annual Physical and TB Test.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
